Elzabeth Glady Dean, also to be known as the last remaining survivors of the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. She was only nine weeks old when the liner hit an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean on the night of April 14th, 1912. This tragic had killed 1500 people while the liner sank. Sadly, the death of Miss Millvina Dean was announced on May 31th 2009 where she died at a care home in England, according to a brief statement from British Titanic Society.
Accordingly, she was the youngest passenger on board RMS Titanic, which at the time was the most luxurious, most technically advanced and largest passenger liner in the world. But it was not like what it has been described with and it only took about 2 hours and 40 mins for her to disappear in the icy waters of the Atlantic after striking the iceberg at 11.40pm on April 14th. Luckily Dean survived in this tragic incident and her brother and mother have made it too, but not for her father which was among those who died.
She was then became a celebrity when a wreckage of the liner was found in 1985. In year 2000 interview with BBC she said that she did not mind with the attention and sometimes people tend to look at her as if she was the Titanic. Her story has inspired many people as a story of hope after a tragedy and loss has happened.
She will never be forgotten and together with the other 2200 abroad titanic. Dean, the last Titanic survivor, rest in peace.
